I finally did it!!!! Tuesday will be my last day of work!
It was probably the hardest choice I have ever had to make and I went back and forth over and over again over the course of my maternity leave. I even went as far as hiring a nanny for the girls so that I could go back to work (I love my job). Daycare is impossible to find for babies less than a year in Alaska. I suppose to my benefit our nanny quit before she started, leaving me short one nanny and back at square one on the stay home or work decision making dilemma. Well as you can see I finally decided!! It came down to this advice from a friend "You have your whole life to work but only a few years to spend with your kids when they are little". It is so true. I am happier than I have ever been and starting my journey in excelling at being a Mom! Yay!

Congrats Carmen! I'm sure you will have no regrets. That lambic looks yummy!
So excited for you! I'm sure you're going to blow my stay at home mom-ness out of the water :)
Congrats!! Big decision, but it sounds like you made the right one :-)
You will not regret this decision. Being a stay at home mom is this the best thing ever. Congrats!!!
You had a difficult choice between two very important jobs.
Everything becomes clear once you finally make the choice. Julie and I have always experienced that if the choice is right things open up immediately and if the choice is wrong things turn bad even faster.
Chloe and Madeline will be the big winners. You and Andrew are already better parents than we were (this is as it should be), so we are looking forward to hearing about you new adventures.
Dad A.K.A. Gdad-P
Happy first day not at work! When I was first born my dad stayed home with me for my first 6 months. Maybe that's why I have tomboy tendencies. My mom and dad worked while my brother and I were little, but mom stayed home with my sister. We're all pretty fantastic, hard to say if one is better. Lucky for you and Andrew to have the choice. May there be many naps and breaks for mama!
