The storm is over, and 3 days later we finally got our internet back. I would complain, and I did (a little), but taking into consideration the our neighbors-literally 2 houses away did not have power from tuesday night to saturday morning, I can't feel too bad. We lost power for maybe 4 or 5 hours in the height of the windstorm, but had heat back by morning. Some of our friends had it so bad that they had to buy bottled water just to flush their toilets, couldn't use their gas fireplaces or gas ranges because they couldn't be lit manually, and basically had to camp in their own houses. Many people didn't even have phone service because it went through their cable box- which didn't work, and did I mention cell service was out for a while too? We didn't realize how bad it really was until we saw the paper in the morning which had pictures of the rest of the city. We didn't loose a single tree, but looking around the city we were lucky! There were trees down everywhere from the bad combo of 100mph+ winds, top heavy trees with leaves and soil that is still soft and not frozen yet. Crazy!
All is well now, and life is back to normal! Here are some things we have been up to:
We have open beams in our living room. I am not sure how Andrew thought of this but he lifts Chloe up so she can hang from them. With him there of course.
Then she counts down and lets go so Andrew can catch her
Then says, "AGAIN!! LETS DO THAT 10 MORE TIMES!!"
We went to a charity softball game to cheer for daddy. He hit so many home runs that they stared walking him! Way to go Andrew!
After every home run Chloe would run down from the bleachers and give him a big hug. Very cute.
What else have we been up to?? Oh yes, making smoked salmon on the traeger!
before
after
I have also been doing a lot of projects around the house.....which leads to Chloe having a little more leeway to get into things......nice lipstick Chloe!
Maddie is really coming into her own too. Her little (HUGE) personality is really coming out. She is super happy and very very crazy. Here she is trying to get outside to check on the BBQ!I know this was a really random mix of events in our life but I figured if I don't just stick it all in, I might never have time to share all of it!

Thanks for all of the random updates. It's a bit like peeking into your lives, and makes us feel a bit closer to all of you.
We miss you all and are looking forward to seeing you again!
Oh my god Chloe is crazy! Lol! Glad you were spared in the storm. Your early summers often make me jealous, but I'm glad it's not like that down here now!
